Poetry: “Astaphobia”

Yeah, I don’t really like thunder, though I think I am better at dealing with it now.

Thunder clap

Lightning strike

Both these things I doth dislike

Summer showers

Have this price

Thunder rumbling through the night

Might be silly

This my fear

But it grips me all the same

This foul weather

All that noise

Taps into something deep down

Childhood memories

Either way it sets me off

I just ask this

Just this thing

Please don’t mock me when I shriek
