Poetry: “Things unfortunate”

A somber tone to this one.

***~***~***~***

Things unfortunate

The squeaky wheel

Does not always get the grease

He is removed

Replaced

With something more quiet

The early bird

Does not always get the worm

When the worm

Is already spoken for

By someone with more means

Pride

Might come before fall

But some

Can afford a lavish parachute

To save themselves from consequences
