Poetry: “The sound of metal”

Certain things just fascinate me, okay?

The sound of metal

Clinging, clanging

Anvil rings

Forming steel into a blade

Ding, dong, booming

Church bells sound

Calling people to the mass

Shiing, shiing, clashing

Swords that meet

On a bloody battle field

Bong, dong, gonging

Temple gong

Solemn monks attending prayer

Thumbing, clanging

Factory floor

People diligently at work

Jingle, jingle, ching-a-ling

Pretty bells

Draft horse pulling on a sleigh

Fanfare, lilting

Music flowing through the air

Sound of metal

In the air

Mankind’s friend for millennia
