Poetry: “Day’s end”

It feels a bit appropriate to post this on a weekday, I think, and on the first day of the work week too.

Day’s end

The sun bows down

Beneath roof tops

Commuter doors

Spew insides out

People massing

In a herd

Moving slowly

T’wards their homes

The daily toil

Has reached its end

Laptops, work phones

Have been shut off

No more business

Time for fun

Relax and rest

Let your hair down

Savor endings

That are good

So you’re prepared

When next day starts
