Poetry: “Spring fly”

A silly little poem I wrote one morning.

***~***~***~***

Spring fly

Just awakened, spring’s first fly

Buzzing ‘gainst the window’s glass

Still so sleepy, still so slow

After his long winter nap

That warm sunlight, woke him up

Now he’s eager for a taste

But my cat, can hear him too

Whiskers standing up on end

With a flourish, open up

Window letting sunlight in

Fly escapes into the world

Leaves behind a surly cat
