Poetry: “Galaxies in my teacup”

Again, strange inspiration from unusual places.

Galaxies in my teacup

I have seen the Milky Way

Swirling in my cup

There beneath the surface

Of the tea that I just brewed

There’s pinwheels and there’s cartwheels

To be found if you look close

A whirlpool if I stir it round

With a very gentle spoon

There’s an entire universe

If I gaze into my cup

The sort of marvel that you find

If you only care to look
