Poetry: “A humble request”

I wrote this on a particularly unpleasant winter day at work.

A humble request

Oh, weather gods please hear me out

I have a small request

This snow that you send falling down

It’s really all too much

I would accept a little bit

To cover up the ground

But now it’s piled up much too high

And it makes outside work hard

I know winter is far from through

That some snow is quite the norm

But could you be more timely

When you make it fall on us?

Alright, I guess I must admit

That the true fault’s not with you

It’s more to do with human’s work

And how they don’t clear the roads

Okay, I doth apologize

For taking up your time

But still I would not mind this much

A very early spring
