Poetry: “Airport”

While yesterday’s poem was on the negative side, this one is more positive in nature.

Sunrise above the airport

A whole world waking up

Of people that are on the move

With their trolleys and their bags

Come watch the hurried masses

Squinting at the sky

As they shuffle though the jetway

Going in or going out

Business folks with laptop bags

All the families herding kids

A weeping child is led away

As folk make last minute calls

A wait for boarding can be long

But there’s much to see and do

Both bars and restaurants and shops

If you don’t prefer a book

The employees they scurry

To take care of all of us

All of us weary travelers

In this closed off airport world
