I rarely do rhyming in poetry, but sometimes I try it, for a challenge.

Winter’s beauty
As the sun begins to rise
She casts her glow across the ground
The snow that fell only last night
It sparkles bright, most every mound
Such startling beauty everywhere
When white has covered every tree
You barely register the cold
To see such wonders, all for free
But sun she can be cruel still
And jealous of what nature makes
If temperatures doth rise to high
That ice glow she obliterates
So take advantage of it now
That sparkling beauty that you see
So hold my hand against the cold
Let’s enjoy winter, you and me
