Poetry: “Winter sun”

A lot of poetry about winter, but t’is the season for that.

Winter sun

With effort does she pull herself

Above horizon’s rim

Not the summer’s healthy glow

Her pallor is a shock

Feebly does she tremble

As she rises in the east

Stumbling as she moves herself

Up into the sky

At first she’s barely noticeable

In the midwinter morn

Though by midday she glows her best

As she sits low in the sky

But as an older lady

Her strength it wanes too soon

And falls back down into the dark

To switch place with the moon
