Poetry: “Maspalomas”

I traveled to Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands last month and it resulted in plenty of creative stuff, starting with poems for today and tomorrow.

Sandy brown dunes

Billowy waves

Raised up in mounds

For you to traverse

Carried great distance

Across the sea

Landing to cover

Volcanic soil

The appear barren

Devoid of all life

But if you look hard

Small blossoms doth sprout

Great sandy mountains

That you can climb

Watch for that wind that

Blows sand in your eyes
