Poetry: “Head full of words”

Another personal poem for you to enjoy on Boxing Day.

Head full of words

When at night my eyes doth shut

There is no blackness in my head

Instead my idle mind doth send

A flurry of all sorts of words

It speaks to me, my silly brain

Of all I did during the day

My worries they doth all return

At night when it is time to rest

Not all is bad, there in my mind

Sometimes the words are helpful friends

Plot points, poems and ideas

Those things they can also appear

Of course it does make sleeping hard

With such an overactive mind

But I have learned to cope with that

So I can have a restful night
