Poetry Snowball: “Happy Holidays”

Resurrecting this old format for Christmas Day. Happy Holidays all!

Happy Holidays

Christmas Morning

It arrives softly

Like newly fallen snow

Glistening in the morning sunlight

When you stir from your bed

Peace on earth it seems to promise

That old cliche that is often tossed around

During these crazy red tinted jingle bells holiday days

But perhaps we should take that phrase seriously

As a reminder of what is important

Truly important this time of year

It is not the gifts

Or the festive tree

But us humans

Spending time

Happy holidays
