Poetry: “Wishlist”

Here is my wishlist for the impending holidays.

All I want for Christmas

Is a perfect cup of tea

Saffron bun that’s toasty warm

And some crispy ginger bread

And while I am here wishing,

May I have some chocolates too?

One whole box that’s just for me

And a cozy spot to read.

I would like a tasty dinner,

That we all helped to prepare.

Rejoicing in that we can eat,

And that no one has to starve.

Can there also be an evening,

Without any harsh exchange.

Where we can all agree for once,

And not fight among ourselves.

Then as a final request,

If someone is listening.

Some snow, that would be lovely,

That we all could run around in.
