Poetry: “Morning frost”

A poem inspired by such a morning.

Morning frost

Frosty streaks upon the ground

Watch it glitter

Watch it shine

Breath is steaming in the air

Winter’s finger has been here

Pavements wetness is now slick

Be so careful

Be so slow

Or on that gleaming you might slip

Trip and fall and hurt yourself

Puddles covered up by ice

Thin and crackling

Thin and white

Stepping on it is a joy

Not just reserved for children’s feet

But frosty morning does not last

Sun is warming

Sun it melts

Still too warm for winter’s heart

And we all walk safely again
