Poetry: “Fledgling”

More nature and observation based poetry for you all.

Little fuzzy baby bird

Perched there in the tree

Feathers are all ruffled

Unsteady on his feet

Takes a leap of faith then

He finds another branch

Little wings that beat so fast

Barely hold his weight

Bravely keeps on trying

His little exercise routine

For such a tiny, little thing

He’s really got some guts

Beneath him lurk the dangers

But he doesn’t seem to care

Roaring cars and sneaky cats

And dogs without their leash.

This little fuzzy baby bird

Symbol of new life itself

And just you watch cause soon enough

He’ll be soaring through the sky.
