Poetry: “A word from the wise”

Another bit of ironic political poetry about workers rights.

A word from the wise

All employers in the world,

Listen closely, heed my words.

Let me give you some advice,

On how to calm your workers down.

Have a schedule very strict,

The whole work day mapped right out.

When to work and what to do,

Maybe squeeze a lunch in there.

Keep their work load fairly high,

Idle hands are devil’s work.

And with minds all occupied,

How to muster a complaint?

Keep them working all day long,

Overtime don’t cost you much,

If your workers don’t speak up,

You can keep their wages low.

Keep them tired, just enough,

Their minds will focus on the job.

And if some should fall aside,

Find some interns, they are cheap!
