Poetry: “In My Dreams”

Some poetry, partially inspired by a dream I had (as you might have guessed from the title).

***~***~***~***

In my dreams

You came when I was sound asleep,

You came to me in dreams.

You smiled as you have always done,

With that kindness you possess.

I felt your breath against my skin,

Warm like a summer’s breeze.

Your hair, it shone bright in the sun,

That pleasant weather of our dreams.

You spoke to me so patiently,

And I did not interrupt.

Then I took your hand in mine,

Felt your fingers enclose mine.

You came alone to comfort me,

You brought people and your pets.

Suck a racket filled my world,

But I really didn’t mind.

Then it was just you and I.

How we laughed and how we smiled.

You came when I was sound asleep,

You came to me when I dreamed.
