Poetry: “On Kindness”

I think we need a reminder of this now and then…

On kindness

It might sound silly, but it’s true.

A smile can make those grey skies blue.

When you toil hard and feel worn out,

Some kindness makes your burden light.

When you fall down and drop your things,

That some rush forward to your aid,

It fills the air with magic’s breath.

That such human kindness still exists.

The rain that falls down from the sky,

A person’s kindness shields you some.

A helping hand when you’re in need.

How can you value such an act?

It’s only when those things are gone,

That you see how much they’re worth.

So, pay it forward, bit by bit.

Some kindness shared, tenfold returns.
