Poetry: “To Boil”

Written in a slightly different format, because the content seemed to require it to be read like this.

To Boil

Ties that bind, they keep you down,

A heavy weight upon your brow.

All your movements are held back,

By some force you cannot see.

Spitting curses at the sky,

It can only rarely help.

Feel it bubbling in your gut,

All those feelings so pent up.

A storm starts up inside your head,

Shutting down the outside world.

You might hold on for a while,

But one day the other shoe drops.

The straw that breaks the camel’s back,

It all pours out in the end.

The raging storm will last a while,

Until you regain lost control.
