Poetry: “On Art”

Another short celebration to art and creativity to round out this NaNo month.

On Art

A tip against the paper,

A line against the white.

Shapes appear, step by step,

And from that pictures emerge.

The source can be inside our minds,

It can come from what we’ve seen.

Sometimes we trace out something real,

Preserve it in our minds.

The feel of graphite, the smell of paint,

And the wet, cold touch of clay.

They are all the medium,

For our mind transfer techniques.

Sometimes the result doesn’t match,

What he had inside our heads.

But from disappointment that we feel,

We can learn and do better next.
