Poetry: “My Emotions”

Good morning, world. Here’s a poem I wrote to serve as a form of reminder to myself of how my mind works.

My Emotions

Roller-coaster hills and dips

Twisting turning, up and down

Those are the ways of my emotions

From day to day, today, tomorrow

Exhausting sometimes, tiring too

Though sometimes pure epiphany

Ride some crazy wave of bliss

Then crash into a pit of sad

I sometimes try to control it

Don’t let myself get pulled away

By that next train that leaves

The station in my emotional center

I feel it struggle in my head,

It wants me to just let go

And let myself get carried up

Though eventually I will fall

I have long since accepted

That my life is one long roller-coaster

I just hope that one day soon

The train will break down on the highest hill
