Two short poems: “On Poetry” and “The Road”

Some more poetry, of a more lighter tone today.

On Poetry

Poetry can be quite hard

When you do not have a plan

Of what you want to write about

Or what you want to say

Poetry in my own mind

Is taking words you know

And use them like a painter

Paints wonders with a brush

Perhaps I am prejudiced

In seeing poetry that way

But I am also a painter of sorts

And it shapes the way I think

The Road

The road at night it stretches on

Like the road to El Dorado

It shines like gold in the night

Under the street lamps glow

I trace its trailing golden path

I watch it disappear

Into the darkness of the forest

Under the street lamps glow

Oh road, where would you take me

If I chose to follow you

Off into the dark and murky night

Under the street lamps glow
