Poetry: “Early thaw”

And the second poem.

I try, I do try to write pretty things.

The sun is hid

Behind the clouds

The sky is dark and grey

The rain will fall

Upon the ground

And wash the snow away

The winter interrupted

The snow it melts away

Though the days were cold

Not long ago

I suddenly miss the ice

The snow it lit the sleeping earth

It made the world glow white

But now there’s nothing left to see

Just muddy ground and grass

Oh come back, come back

You winter snows

It’s still early in the year

The seeds and buds are freezing now

Without their snowy quilt
