Poetry: “Contrast – Complication”

Wrote another little poem thing. (Seems today is a poetic day for me.)

***

What is the warmth of summer,

Without winter’s bitter cold?

What is a fragrant flower,

Without the painful thorn?

What is the blissful silence,

Without the noisy world?

What is a close relationship,

Without a few harsh words?

What is recreation,

Without a bit of work?

What would the prideful loner be,

Without friends to hold him up?

We cannot have the cookie,

And still eat it up.

See life is full of compromise,

And things that cheer us up.
